We visited the Trebotti wine estate as part of our itinerary with Domiziano Cultuurreizen ( https://www.domiziano-cultuurreizen.nl/rome-8-dagen ) and Frederico gave us a very interesting and entertaining tour. He explained that from the eruptions of Bolsena, Europe’s largest volcanic lake, their ‘explosive’ wines are born. The rich volcanic soils give rise to the minerality and elegant complexity of their wines. These typical characteristics of volcanic wines also guarantee great longevity to the wine. After the tour, we received a fantastic rose wine for tasting, accompanied with matching snacks. Next, we enjoyed a delicious 4-course dinner, with yummy homemade dishes and local delicacies, accompanied by their excellent wines which matched perfectly with the food. Frederico was very friendly and answered all our questions with great knowledge and a good sense of humor.
