Our Wines

TREBOTTI has formed a strong bond with the Tiber Valley and its territory, and this is reflected by the farm policy to almost exclusively grow indigenous vines that are deeply connected to the local winemaking tradition. The grape varieties of choice are Violone, Sangiovese and Aleatico for red wines, and Grechetto and Trebbiano for the white ones. The only exception is represented by Manzoni Bianco. read more Originally from Veneto, it was created by Professor Luigi Manzoni, a relative of Mrs. Giulia. This grape variety is a cross between Pinot Noir and Rhine Riesling and, apart from its link to the family history, it has been chosen by TREBOTTI for the excellent results it previously delivered in similar terroirs. Its cultivation led to the production of the sulphite-free 3S Manzoni Bianco, a wine first commercialised in 2012/2013 that is already a steady feature within the broad offer of high-quality white wines. Lastly, there is Aleatico; this grape variety has been the core of young Ludovico's bachelor thesis in agricultural sciences, who after a research lasted three years succeeded in creating the clone selection Aleatico di Gradoli. He worked in collaboration with the Università della Tuscia in Viterbo and experimented several methods for growing and making wine out of Aleatico, thus becoming one of the main experts in Italy on this topic. Bludom, an Aleatico raisin wine (passito), was first bottled in 2006 and has since become a hit; in 2010 Ludovico finally got to plant and grow in his vineyard the graft produced by his research.
